Complaints Regarding Voltage Drops in the Enbekshikazakh District Reviewed

Alatau Zharyk Company JSC reviewed complaints received from residents of the Enbekshikazakh District regarding a decrease in voltage levels.

In order to identify the causes of the issue, Alatau Zharyk Company JSC established a commission and inspected the power supply scheme of the enterprise in question.

The enterprise has its own 40 MVA substation. In addition, technical conditions have been issued to the enterprise for an approved capacity of 35 MW.

To stabilize voltage levels and reduce the load on the power grids, the enterprise took a number of measures. In particular, one electric furnace at the production facility was temporarily disconnected, resulting in an approximate 7 MW reduction in the enterprise’s electrical load.

In addition, further technical measures must be implemented on the 110 kV high-voltage side to further stabilize the voltage level. In this regard, the enterprise was recommended to install a capacitor bank, also known as a static capacitor battery, on the 110 kV side.

To ensure accurate monitoring of electricity consumption parameters and continuous control of the network load mode, the enterprise was instructed to install automated electricity metering and telemetry systems.
