As part of the second stage of its fleet renewal program, Alatau Zharyk Company JSC has delivered another 150 vehicles and units of special-purpose equipment to its operational divisions. The Company plans to acquire more than 200 additional vehicles and units of special equipment next year.
Alatau Zharyk Company JSC plays a vital role in ensuring the reliable operation of the power infrastructure of Almaty and the Almaty Region. Providing millions of consumers with reliable and uninterrupted electricity requires not only highly qualified specialists, but also a modern and well-equipped technical base.
To this end, the Company has been systematically modernizing its vehicle fleet. The new vehicles and equipment will enable faster and more efficient maintenance of power grids, emergency recovery, repair and modernization works. The initiative is also aimed at improving working conditions for employees and increasing operational efficiency.
At the beginning of 2023, the Company’s fleet consisted of 626 vehicles and units of special-purpose equipment. A significant portion of the fleet was physically worn out and required replacement. To address this issue, in 2023, at the initiative of Abay Nogayuly Asylov, Chairman of the Management Board of Alatau Zharyk Company JSC, the first stage of the fleet modernization program was implemented.
The Company acquired approximately 80 new vehicles and units of special-purpose equipment, including crew vans, dump trucks, tow trucks, mobile cranes and truck-mounted manipulators. All equipment was purchased using the Company’s own funds.
This year, the modernization program continued, with the fleet being expanded by another 150 new vehicles and units of special equipment. The new vehicles will be allocated to key operational divisions responsible for maintaining urban and regional electricity distribution networks.
During the official handover ceremony, Abay Nogayuly Asylov, Chairman of the Management Board of Alatau Zharyk Company JSC, emphasized the importance of fleet modernization in improving the efficiency and quality of the Company’s operations.
“Previously, due to the poor condition of aging vehicles, it was difficult to complete certain works on time, while significant time and resources also had to be spent on equipment repairs. To address this issue, we carried out extensive work in 2023 and purchased new special-purpose equipment. This year, we continued this initiative and added another 150 new vehicles and units of special equipment to our fleet. Next year, we plan to acquire more than 200 additional vehicles and units of equipment.
Modern vehicles and equipment will make our specialists’ work easier, save time and enable them to perform operational tasks more efficiently. Most importantly, I believe they will help improve the quality and speed of repair and modernization works on power grids and contribute to a reliable electricity supply for consumers. The Company’s fleet currently comprises 825 vehicles and units of special-purpose equipment. Taking the newly acquired vehicles into account, the fleet’s wear level stands at 43%. At the same time, approximately 200 vehicles have reached the end of their service life. These figures demonstrate the importance of continuing the phased modernization of the Company’s technical resources.
The fleet modernization program will continue in the coming years. The planned acquisition of more than 200 vehicles next year will strengthen the technical capabilities of the operational divisions and improve the quality and efficiency of power grid maintenance.
