On 3 November 2026, the management of AZhK JSC held a working meeting with representatives of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), including Matteo Patrone, Vice President, Banking, and Huseyin Ozhan, Managing Director for Central Asia and Mongolia and Head of the EBRD in Kazakhstan.
Since 2025, AZhK JSC has been actively working on the implementation of the National Project for the Modernisation of the Energy and Utilities Sectors of the Republic of Kazakhstan (MEKS), aimed at the comprehensive modernisation of the country's energy and utilities infrastructure.
As part of the preparation and implementation of MEKS projects scheduled for 2026, the Company has undertaken extensive efforts to secure financing, including through negotiations with international financial institutions.
One of the key achievements was the signing of a loan agreement with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development for KZT 102 billion. This marked an important milestone in the implementation of projects under the MEKS National Project for 2026.
During the meeting, the parties reviewed the interim results of the 2026 projects, highlighting the significance of the agreements reached, the high level of cooperation, and the professionalism of the teams involved in implementing the joint projects.
The parties also exchanged views on further cooperation and opportunities to attract financing for projects planned for 2027.
